Shutter Speed

Shutter speed effects the amount of light comes into the camera and how much movement is allowed inside of the picture. Shutter speed on our camera is represented as a S with a second, such as 1" or is represent a faction of a second, like 1/2. Shutter can only be manipulated in two modes : S for shutter speed and M for Manual. The only difference of the two mods was that Manual can let the shutter stay open for 15" while Shutter can only go to 4". Manual doesn't set the other modes, like Shutter. Shutter automatically sets the aperture. This is useful for when it's very dark and when it's very bright. When dark, you can make the shutter be open longer so it can take in more light. However, for a bright room, you'd want to use a lower shutter speed, as you don't want the picture to be as bright as can be. The photo on the left was when we used shutter speed to pan. Personally, I don't like it but it looks really cool since that was the first time I've ever panned. The one on the right is when we changed the shutter speed inside along with the ISO to take a picture of our partner standing still. It's a bit bright though...
